Amsterdam, 20th of October 2025 –

Dutch artist, author, and coach Blackrockstar (Rivelino Rigters) releases his most powerful and personal project yet: SPEAR — a musical and spiritual journey through pain, faith, healing, and resilience.

From illness to inner strength

After years of battling a serious kidney condition, Blackrockstar found his way back to life through music, faith, and community. SPEAR tells that story — raw, unfiltered, and deeply human. Each song captures a chapter of struggle and rebirth.

Sound and production

Produced by Francis III and Daniel J. Manuputtij, with interludes by Onno Schmitz, SPEAR carries the warmth of analog sound combined with soulful grit. The album was mixed by Daniël J. Manuputtij and mastered by Statinski Mastering and Eastar, delivering a deep, organic blend of blues, soul, spoken word, and hip-hop.

Album & documentary premiere at Melkweg Cinema

The release of SPEAR and the short documentary “Brasil: Behind Concrete Bars” will be celebrated with a special album listening and film screening event at Club Melkweg Cinema (Amsterdam).

The evening will feature a live talk and performance by Blackrockstar, sharing his journey of healing and the story behind the album’s creation.

Release and distribution

SPEAR is released under BAM Records and distributed by In Corsa Distributie, and will be on the 5th of November on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms.
